LOMBOK - An Extraordinary Journey

On January, I went to Lombok with my friends. We had been planning this thing since the beginning of 5th semester. We heard so many good destinations to visit from social media. We knew to go there wasn't free, so we saved our own money. Every single penny counts! Trust me! We never hang out the entire semester except if we had a meeting to discuss something about our travel whether the plane ticket, home stay or something else. We really committed to save our money. The struggle was real, but we knew better things would come soon. We started to save money in September 2015. In January 2016, we decided to buy the tickets. We had look out Traveloka for about a week to find a decent price. We finally found the most decent price for plane tickets and hotels. 

We flew to Lombok at January, 17th. We almost had car accident while on our way to Juanda Airport. The travel car almost flipped but we flew peacefully in our plane. First impression of Lombok: Warm and Humid. Typical tropical island. There were a lot of travel agents waiting outside the airport. We closed the deal and headed straight to Pelabuhan Bangsal (Bangsal Harbour). It took us about 3 hours to get to the harbour. We picked a private speedboat instead of public one because they'd picked us back from the island.

It was the place that made you said "WOW!" a couple times. Gili Trawangan was the most stunning place I've ever been in my life. The view was just breathtaking. We had such a good time in there. we explored the island. The foods were amazing and the Gelato was exquisite. Both the sunset and sunrise were awesome. We also got to snorkeling in 3 different spots around Gili Islands. It was one of the place I would come back to visit. 

After Gili Trawangan, we went to Rumah Sasak. Rumah Sasak is known to be native's traditional house. Pile-built, bonnet-rice barns known as lumbung are the pride of Sasak architecture. They are built in rows along the easier lower paths of village. We also got to weave fabric with local. The hosts were very nice and smoothly explained while we were on the tour of the village.

Next we wento to Pantai Tanjung Aan (Tanjung Aan Beach). Again, Surprised by the view. It got Bukit Merese on the side and Batu Payung on the other side. It looked like a scene from a movie where dinosaur still ruled the land. Pantai Tanjung Aan is in the area of Kuta, so you could also visit Pantai Kuta and small harbour nearby. Lombok offers many beautiful destinations for you to enjoy yourself or with your friends. I had a really good time in there. It was the first time I've been there and the best time of my life.
