Favorite of the Month: February

Hi, everyone! February was all about love and affection. People celebrated Valentine's day with their loved ones everywhere. But I don't want to talk about those cheesy couples' story about how they spent their Valentine. I want to talk my favorite things in the month of February. Like films, playlist, books, anything I loved in the month. I will do this every first week of the month. So let's get to it.

BROOKLYN, Directed by John Crowley

Brooklyn is absolutely my favorite film in February. It nicely captured how Eilis played by the incredible Saoirse Ronan struggled to live in her new life in Brooklyn and leave her hometown in Ireland. She met an Italian boy, Tony (Emory Cohen) at the Irish dance and their love immediately grow towards each other. A romantic story in each moments will give you smile upon your face. To be honest, I am not very fond of romantic drama because of those cheesy acts and some of it just plain boring. This film made me think "maybe romantic drama wasn't so bad after all". It was also nominated for Best Picture in this year's Oscar.

Instagram is my favorite social media circa 2011. As an aspiring photographer, Instagram is the most contributed media in increasing my skill in photography. There are a lot of creative people in that platform to learn. One is Connor Franta. I didn't know he was also a youtuber back then. All I knew was he has pretty good photos and that was it. One time, he showed his latest work which was his book.

I'm a fan of his work both in Instagram and Youtube. So when he announced about his book, I was intrigued to read it. I looked every where, book store to another book store. None had it or it was out of stock.  After a really long time to find that book, I finally got it in a book store at Lombok Airport. I read it in my way back to Palu. The book was good contained with his life story, advices about being yourself and also some of his photos.

SIA is one of my favorite singer of all time. She is one quirky singer with her bob wig and amazing vocal. James Corden teamed up with her and made carpool karaoke. He has done carpool karaoke with Adele, Stevie Wonder, Justin Bieber, etc. I can't think better words to describe as "Hilarious" and "Stunning" performance of both SIA and James.
